The Engineers - Canberra @ Australia

The Engineers - Canberra @ Australia

The capital city of Australia is Canberra. It is located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory, south-west of Sydney, and north-east of the Melbourne city.

The above picture is taken from the World War Roll of Honor, in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. It records and commemorates the names of Australia’s war dead. It takes the form of bronze panels in the Memorial’s Commemorative Area and the Roll of Honour database. It was recorded to assist in remembering, interpreting and understanding of the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society.

Of course, for friends who know me, they will know why I took these particular picture of the ENGINEERS. I was in the engineers too when I was serving the army.

Manneken Pis ( Vlaamse Fries ) - Amsterdam @ Netherlands

Manneken Pis ( Vlaamse Fries ) - Amsterdam @ Netherlands

The Netherlands, which is often known as Holland. Borders the North Sea to the north and west, to the south is Belgium, and Germany to the east. The capital is Amsterdam, commonly also known as the capital of culture, coffeeshops and canals. The word Dutch is used to refer to the people, the language, and anything pertaining to the Netherlands.

Ok, so what is the picture about? Is about Manneken Pis. Don't be mistaken. It is definitely not the small bronze fountain sculpture naked little boy of the Brussels’ (Belgium) most famous statues. It is the name of the french fries shop from Amsterdam.

Located just a short walk from the exit of Amsterdam Central Station. It is a take-out only type restaurant. The fries are served in a in a paper sack (shaped like an ice cream cone) with a little fork and a pool of sauce in the middle Order. Locally the fries are known as Vlaamse Fries (Flemish Fries) made from whole potatoes. Typically smothered in mayonnaise. Very nice. In fact me and my wife simply love it.

The Golden Sun Rise - Texarkana, Texas @ United States

The Golden Sun Rise - Texarkana, Texas @ United States

This is in fact the first "official" U.S states and city that I step my feet on when I first went to America. Texarkana, Texas in United States.

Texas is the second-largest U.S. state in both area and population, and the largest state in the contiguous United States. Located in the South Central United States, Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as an independent republic and as a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico.

As for Texarkana, it is a city in Bowie Country, Texas in United States. It effectively functions as one half of a city which crosses a state line — the other half, the city of Texarkana, Arkansas, lies on the other side of State Line Avenue.

In fact the above picture is the first morning that I spend in America. Looking out from the window, I saw this beautiful golden sun rising up. Isn’t life beautiful with such a nice scene to start with early in the morning?

Give the Girls... er... Colors Drinks? - Brussel @ Belgium

Give the Girls... er... Colors Drinks? - Brussel @ Belgium

Brussels (French: Bruxelles, Dutch: Brussel) is the de facto capital city of the European Union (EU) and the largest urban area in Belgium. It comprises 19 municipalities, including the City of Brussels proper, which is the capital of Belgium, Flanders and the French Community of Belgium.

Ever heard someone commented that "Belgium is the country with the best beer in the world and Brussel is the city of Beer". Is that true? I don't know. I don't drink actually. Anyway from my understanding is that Belgium contains thousands of cafes that offer a wide selection of beers, ranging from perhaps 10 (including bottles) in a neighborhood cafe, to over 1000 in a specialist beer outlets.

So, this particular scene caught my eyes in Brussels, 3 ladys drinking in the early afternoon and most importantly is the drinks. I believe is beers but it comes in different colors. Well okay, I admit that I’m a “mountain tortoise”, I never see so many colors of beer before, can? ;-P

Cheers ! - Shenzhen (深圳市) @ China

China being one of the world's oldest civilizations, is located in the Eastern Asia, bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam.

Shenzhen is a city of Guangdong province in Southern China. Being located at the border with Hong Kong, Due to it’s location that gives Shenzhen a geographical advantage for economic development, it has become one of the fastest growing cities in China.

The boy in the picture was taken in a place called Splendid China (锦绣中华) – its miniature scenic area covers an area of 300,000 square meters. It collects 82 different miniatures of Chinese famous ancient buildings, landscapes and residential houses which reflect the Chinese history and culture of 5000 years. All of these spots are made on a scale of 1:15 and laid to replicate their locations on China map. Additionally, there are over 50,000 terra cotta figures positioned in different spots to enhance the models' original flavor.

I was actually watching the folk dance show and there the children were sitting just beside me. So I took out my camera and great enough, he actually poses it for me. Handsome boy with a very good smile.

Mummy, that's a bird on my head - Venezia @ Italy

Mummy, that's a bird on my head - Venezia @ Italy

Picture was taken in a city in the northern part of Italy, known as Venice (Italian: Venezia). If my memory doesn't failed me, it was taken right infront of the Basillica of St. Marks. Also commonly known as the Piazza San Marco. It is probably the one of the most famous place in Venice, even from the medieval age it has always been treated as the centre of Venice.

Alright I know, you might be asking, how come the picture does not show the basillica? Well, this picture is about its famous pigeons flying around the basillica. It is a very common sight to see pigeons around the St. Marks Square. So here it is a little girl trying to play with the pigeons and suddenly she got panic when one of the pigeon landed on her head.

The building was designed in neo-Renaissance style. It ceased to function as an office of Australia in 2001 and was closed as a public facility after developers won the rights to develop it as a retail complex. opened for trade as a retail centre in October 2004.

The GPO Building re-opened for business as a new upmarket retail centre in 2005 after it was almost gutted by fire in September 2001.

Light Before Rain - Firenze @ Italy

Light Before Rain - Firenze @ Italy

Italy officially the Italian Republic is a country located in the Southern Europe, a peninsula extending into the central Mediterranean Sea, northeast of Tunisia.

The photo captured above is in Florence (Italian : Firenze), which is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is one of the best-preserved Renaissance city in the world and is regarded by many as the art capital of Italy.

This picture was taken just before it was going to rain. Dark cloud began to form when I was there. Neverthless I think it still looks presentable to place it in my blog. Well, I always believe, no matter how bad your photography skill is or how bad your camera can be, once you reach one of the most beautiful cities in the world like Florence, many of your pictures will start to turn out to be good. ;-P

Vatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of Rome (Italian : Roma), the capital city of Italy.

The above picture is the aerial (panorama) view of Vatican City. Okay not all of Rome... On the left hand side is the St Peter's Square in the Vatican City. If I remember correctly, this picture is taken from the Dome of St Peter's Basilica. Got to climb up to the top of the dome. But once you are there, you will realise the climb is really worth climbing.
