Cathedral Of Pisa - Pisa @ Italy

Cathedral Of Pisa - Pisa @ Italy

Pisa is a city in Tuscany, capital city of the Province of Pisa, central Italy, on the right bank of the mouth of the Arno River on the Ligurian Sea.

Pisa is famous of its Leaning Tower (La Torre Pendente - the bell tower of the city's cathedral) of the Pisa Cathedral. The first stone of Pisa Cathedral was laid in 1093, initiating what would become the distinctive Pisan Romanesque style. The main architect was Buscheto, who is buried in the last blind arch on the left side of the facade. The facade itself was built by Buscheto's successor, Rainaldo.
